Do you have any crafty goals for 2016? My goal is to create a card EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. It’s kind of a lofty goal…especially since it’s a Leap Year and there are 366 days this year.
You may be asking yourself, “Why?” and my answer is to build my skill. Nothing makes you better except practice…and practicing every day will develop my skills much faster than just once a week or so.
New Year’s Day Card
This card took me WAY longer than I had intentionally planned.
I found this fun FREE image on Miss Kate Cuttables. You should go and check it out. She posts a free image each day. You get the PNG/JPEG and the SVG files so you can use your Silhouette to print and cut or cut out the layers (like I did) and paper piece them.
So why did it take me so long? My computer and my Silhouette have some kind of silent feud. They refuse to talk to each other at the most inopportune times. Any way, once I convinced them to set their differences aside so I could get some crafting done, we were on our way.
I love how bright this on is. I also love how the layers of card stock give it so much dimension.
What do you think? Do you like paper piecing cards?
